In the first 24 hours

Reply to the approval email so the leasing agent knows you're moving forward.Silence gets units re-leased. This has actually happened to renters.
Confirm the rent amount, lease term, and start date in writing.
Ask about a holding deposit — amount, deadline, accepted payment method.
Request a copy of the lease to read before signing.

Before you sign

Read the full lease. Ask: "Is this an NAA Blue Moon lease?" — see the Decision Framework.
Note any clauses that seem one-sided, unusual, or contradict what you were told.
Get any clarifications in writing (email is fine).
