After the Honeymoon: The First 30 Days.

The honeymoon phase teaches you how the building works. The next phase is about building the habits that keep everything running smoothly for the rest of your lease.

What's normal
Discovering a few things that don't work quite right after a couple weeks of using the space. That's what service requests are for.
What's raising eyebrows
Requests filed in the first 30 days that get ignored, or a management team that changes the answer depending on who you ask.
Your plays
Log what you've learned in Property Information, close out lingering move-in items, and set a rhythm for routine requests.
The 30-day checkpoint
  1. Revisit your Move-In Condition Report — anything you noticed in week one that still needs a ticket?
  2. Fill in every field you can in Property Information — future you will thank present you.
  3. Close the loop on any service request that's still "submitted" but never got scheduled.
  4. Note anything about the neighborhood or building routine that surprised you (both good and bad).
  5. Save at least one contact — a neighbor, a doorperson, a maintenance tech's name — that's not the leasing office.
